Zonova secures £2.1m in a seed funding round led by THENA Capital to transform medical device infection prevention.
THENA Capital led the seed round to help advance Zonova toward major OEM partnerships and international deployment.
Zonova is a London-based antimicrobial materials company that develops embedded technologies for infection-resistant medical devices. The firm uses a licensing model to integrate its proprietary materials directly into polymers for global manufacturers.
Zonova has secured £2.1m in a seed funding round led by THENA Capital to accelerate the commercialisation of its antimicrobial materials. The raise included participation from Angel Academe, The Conduit Impact Fund, Arāya Sie Fund, The S100 Club, Animal Health Angels, and several strategic healthcare investors.
The capital will support the company as it partners with medical device manufacturers to embed its Z-ROS technology into high-volume products such as catheters. Zonova plans to use the proceeds to expand its research and development and commercial teams, advance manufacturing validation, grow its patent portfolio, and secure initial licensing agreements.
The funding arrives as healthcare systems increasingly prioritise solutions for antimicrobial resistance and hospital-acquired infections. Zonova offers a durable, non-antibiotic alternative to traditional surface coatings, designed to integrate directly into existing manufacturing infrastructure.
