YoungPlanet provides a cashless parenting platform operating on a sharing economy model to allow the free exchange of children items. The service helps families reduce household waste by facilitating the sharing of books, clothes, toys, and baby equipment.

YoungPlanet has secured £500k through a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to support its continued growth across the UK. The financing builds on a period of substantial user expansion for the circular economy parenting platform, which allows families to trade children items without charge.

The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding the platform community nationally, alongside technical enhancements including gamification features and integrated postage options. The company reached its initial funding target within hours before ultimately closing the round significantly oversubscribed.

Operating in an expanding sharing economy, the business continues to scale as more parents adopt sustainable alternatives for managing children goods. The latest funding provides additional momentum as the platform looks to broaden its reach and deepen user engagement.

From the founder

"YoungPlanet’s mission has been to help parents become more sustainable, and we’re overjoyed that our investors and community members have chosen to invest in this journey with us. Being overfunded within the first 7 hours of our crowdfunding campaign going live was a huge success, and to see that we have overachieved our funding goals by 56% to raise over half a million, shows just how many people believe in our mission."
