Edinburgh-based Wordsmith has secured $70m in a Series B funding round co-led by Highland Europe and Index Ventures. The capital will be deployed to support a scaling initiative aimed at expanding the company workforce towards 300 employees by the end of 2026.

Founded in 2023, the legal technology firm provides a platform designed for in-house corporate legal teams to manage and automate routine legal requests from across their organisations. The company serves over 500 enterprise clients, including BT, Canva, and Sage, as it navigates a rapidly growing global legal artificial intelligence sector.

The latest financing brings the company's total cumulative funding to $100m following previous seed and Series A rounds backed by Index Ventures.
