Wirex has secured £3.7m in a seed round through a campaign on Crowdcube. The company raised £1m within the first 90 minutes and ultimately exceeded its initial target by 370 percent, drawing participation from nearly 7,000 investors across 94 countries.
The capital will support the firm as it prepares for scale, following a recent product overhaul, upcoming multi-currency Mastercard releases, and planned expansions into the US and Japanese markets. The raise also marks a notable milestone for Crowdcube, establishing the campaign as its best-performing crypto crowdfunding initiative to date.
