Wayve develops end-to-end artificial intelligence software for autonomous vehicles. The company provides a scalable driving platform designed for automotive manufacturers.

Wayve is in talks to secure $2bn in funding from Microsoft and SoftBank to accelerate its international expansion and commercial partnerships. The proposed investment could value the British autonomous vehicle company at roughly $8bn.

The startup develops embodied artificial intelligence that learns from experience rather than relying solely on predetermined rules and sensor suites. Previous backers include Nvidia and Uber.

The new capital will support the company as it expands testing into Germany and Japan, alongside its existing operations in the UK and US, while embedding its technology into passenger cars and freight logistics.
