Norfolk-based WATR has developed clean-tech hardware and software that monitors water and soil quality in real time.

Norfolk-based clean-tech start-up WATR has secured £75k in a seed round backed by Anglia Capital Group and New Anglia Capital. The fresh capital will support the company as it expands its footprint in environmental monitoring.

Founded four years ago, WATR offers real-time monitoring solutions for water parameters and has recently branched out into soil monitoring with its TERA product. The firm works with water companies, small and medium enterprises, and fisheries globally.

Anglia Capital Group participated alongside its partners at New Anglia Capital to complete the financing. The funding follows a period of commercial traction that includes selection as a finalist in recent industry awards.

Investor perspective

"When WATR pitched to our members they were immediately impressed by the mission to improve water conditions around the world. Businesses with a focus on sustainability are increasingly seeing success in gaining early-stage funding as more of our members seek to invest in companies which are having a positive impact on the environment. We wish WATR every success for the future and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength"
