Wastewater Fuels has raised a seed investment round led by TSP Ventures.
The company develops Microbial Electrolysis Cell technology, originally inspired by research at the University of Warwick, which applies electrical currents to microbe-colonised electrodes to treat wastewater and capture released hydrogen. The funding will support the founders as they scale their technology and commercialise their modular systems.
Chief Executive Martyn Lathbury noted that the capital will help deliver zero-emission hydrogen production and net-energy-positive wastewater treatment.
