Virokine Therapeutics raises £290k to advance viral immunotherapeutics and laboratory operations.
The financing draws backing from the founding team and a US family office.
Virokine Therapeutics is a biotechnology developer focusing on immunotherapeutics derived from viruses to address cancer, infections, and autoimmune conditions.
Virokine Therapeutics has secured £290k as part of an ongoing £500k seed-equivalent fundraising drive. The capital was supplied by the company founding team alongside an American family office with existing ties to the firm.
The proceeds will be directed towards covering operational expenses at the London laboratory facility and strengthening the company patent portfolio. Virokine Therapeutics is currently advancing preclinical trials for its lead DNA technology platform in the United States, supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health.
The firm holds SEIS and EIS tax clearance from HMRC for the remaining £210k of the round. Leadership intends to showcase the platform at upcoming investor events in the United States to kick off subsequent fundraising.
