Vertical Future secures £4m in a seed round led by Earthworm to expand its urban farming operations.
The London-based food technology company has raised £4m from Earthworm and other backers to build new plant factories and scale production.
Vertical Future is a food technology company that produces ethical crops in controlled urban environments. The firm develops efficient food production and supply systems designed to improve health and reduce emissions.
London-based food technology firm Vertical Future has secured £4m in a seed funding round led by Earthworm. The capital will enable the company to multiply its crop production capacity and construct new plant factories in the capital.
Additional support for the raise came from corporate finance adviser Acceleris Capital, alongside Amberley Advisory and Gateley. The proceeds will fund the expansion of growing facilities in London Fields, Mayfair, and Deptford, alongside technology upgrades in automation, data management, and nutrition.
The investment aims to support the company as it targets a tenfold increase in its business-to-business and consumer customer base. The expansion is also expected to create at least 30 permanent local roles focused on growing technology, robotics, and process management.
