Valla secures £2m in seed funding from Ada Ventures, Active Partners and Portfolio Ventures to expand access to legal justice.
The seed round was led by Ada Ventures, Active Partners and Portfolio Ventures to support platform growth and tool development.
Valla operates an artificial intelligence driven legal platform that helps workers navigate employment disputes and access affordable support. The company empowers individuals to collect evidence, generate documents, and obtain expert guidance.
Edinburgh based legal tech platform Valla has secured £2m in seed funding to expand access to employment justice across the United Kingdom. The financing round was led by Ada Ventures, with participation from Active Partners, Portfolio Ventures, Techstart Ventures, and the Resolution Foundation.
The capital will support the company as it broadens market reach, develops new artificial intelligence tools, and establishes partnerships with trade unions throughout 2025. Valla addresses a significant gap in legal provision for workers facing workplace discrimination who are routinely priced out of traditional services.
The investment coincides with parliamentary debate surrounding employment rights reform and follows earlier grant backing from Innovate UK. Valla has previously supported more than 12,000 workers through its platform since launch.
From the founder
"The legal world is experiencing its own watershed moment. AI is completely redrawing who can access justice – but ordinary people are being left behind. We’re flipping this on its head by putting powerful, tailor-made legal tools directly into workers’ hands, not just those with deep pockets."

Investor perspective
"Valla exemplifies precisely the kind of game-changing vision we’re passionate about supporting. They’ve spotted a vast, overlooked market and used emerging technology to create an innovative new solution that was impossible even a few years ago. As AI reshapes traditional legal billing models, Valla’s transparent, accessible approach perfectly positions them to become the definitive platform for workplace rights."
