UrbanThings is a London-based technology company specialising in intelligent mobility and smart ticketing platforms across Europe. The company is best known for creating UK Bus Checker and the Ticketless platform.

UrbanThings has secured £455k in a seed follow-on funding round, bringing its total capital raised to £1.5m. The investment was backed by an existing pool of investors alongside the UK Government's Future Fund.

The proceeds from the raise will be directed toward developing the pre-booking and mobility as a service components of the company platform, which currently powers transit networks in the UK and Germany.

The firm's software handles over 130m passenger journeys annually across three continents, with upcoming deployments for clients including Newport Transport.
