The Edinburgh-based wearable tech start-up secured the capital in under 48 hours from backers on Kickstarter.
UNA Watch designs and manufactures modular, fully repairable GPS sports watches aimed at reducing electronic waste in the wearable technology sector.
Wearable technology start-up UNA Watch has secured more than £200k in a seed investment round backed by Kickstarter. The Edinburgh-based firm reached the funding milestone in under 48 hours, drawing support from over 1,000 early adopters globally.
The capital supports the commercial rollout of the company flagship modular sports watch, designed to counter planned obsolescence by allowing users to replace individual components. Deliveries of the device are scheduled to begin in August 2025.
The raise follows earlier backing from SFC Capital and a prize win at Scottish EDGE. The business plans to use the momentum to scale production and expand its market presence.
