Lowercarbon Capital led the pre-seed round, with participation from Passion Capital, Giant Ventures, and firstminute Capital.
TrueCircle deploys computer vision technology into recycling facilities to provide live data and improve efficiency. The company also builds digital infrastructure to modernise the trading of recycled materials.
TrueCircle has secured £4.1m in a pre-seed funding round led by Lowercarbon Capital. The raise included participation from Passion Capital, Giant Ventures, firstminute Capital, and several prominent founders. The capital will support the company as it scales its AI-powered computer vision technology for recycling plants and expands into international markets.
The waste management sector faces increasing pressure to handle higher volumes of recycled materials efficiently. TrueCircle offers a system that can be retrofitted within an hour to supply live material stream data, helping facilities recover more valuable paper and plastic. The company is also launching digital tools to streamline offline sales processes for recyclers.

Investor perspective
"Single-use plastic is a 300 million tonne scourge on our oceans and landfills that keeps the petrochemical industry in business. We backed TrueCircle because they’re harnessing technology and markets to build a solution that scales to the dimensions of the problem."
