The seed round was led by BlueYard Capital and will fund the expansion of the team and delivery of a beta product.
London-based startup developing a decentralised platform that redirects crypto mining compute power to train artificial intelligence models.
Tromero has secured £1.5m in a seed funding round led by BlueYard Capital to develop its decentralised platform for training artificial intelligence models. The company aims to repurpose crypto mining infrastructure to provide a more economical alternative to major cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
The newly acquired capital will be directed towards building out the team and delivering a functioning beta version for a closed group of early-adopter clients and miners within the next year. Co-founded by AI researchers Sophia Kalanovska and Charles Higgins, the firm uses a proprietary proof-of-training algorithm to combine machine learning with proof of work mining.
From the founder
"In an industry that struggles to keep pace with the soaring demand for machine learning training, our new way of mining cryptocurrency ensures that GPUs are no longer wasted on meaningless hashing, like they are currently, but are utilised to solve meaningful problems requiring AI solutions,"
