Family travel technology platform tripAbrood has secured £645k in a seed funding round led by former Barclays Ventures CEO Ben Davey. The fresh capital arrives shortly after the company launched its beta version in September 2020 and will be deployed to launch and scale its global product offering within the UK market. Additional backing came from prominent industry figures including former executives from American Express, Expedia, and Funding Circle.
The business has experienced rapid early traction despite challenging conditions in the travel sector, reporting higher than average conversion rates and strong customer feedback. Former American Express executive Charles Petruccelli and former PrimaryBid executive Will Keith have joined the company board as part of the transaction.
