£2.1MSeed

ThinkSono develops medical technology specialising in ultrasound artificial intelligence guidance solutions. The firm has built software that allows non-ultrasound trained medical staff to scan patients.

ThinkSono has secured £2.1m in a seed funding round led by id4 ventures. The capital injection includes participation from Brandenburg Kapital, Calm Storm Ventures, Dubai Angel Investors, CrowdCube, and Cur8 Capital alongside various angel investors and vascular surgery clinicians.

The fresh funds arrive alongside the attainment of the Class IIb CE mark for the company flagship product, the ThinkSono Guidance system. The software allows healthcare personnel without ultrasound training to scan patients suspected of deep vein thrombosis and forward the data for clinical review.

The company is also pursuing regulatory approval in the United States, having formed partnerships with NYU Langone Health and Temple Health to accelerate its entry into the American market.
