The seed round was co-led by Speedinvest and Nina Capital to fund international expansion and team growth.
The Lowdown operates a reproductive and sexual health platform that helps women navigate contraception options and care. The London-based business combines user reviews with clinical evidence to offer digital health tools and consultations.
London-based femtech startup The Lowdown has secured £2.1m in seed funding to scale its community-driven health platform. The round was co-led by Speedinvest and Nina Capital, with participation from Calm/Storm VC, Entrepreneur First, and several high-profile angel investors.
The capital will be directed towards key commercial and product hires, alongside scaling the company's offerings across European markets, beginning with Germany. The funding milestone follows the recent introduction of private GP consultations, pelvic health physiotherapy, and sex coaching services on the platform.
From the founder
"The Lowdown’s success speaks to how underserved women are worldwide when it comes to understanding and navigating things like their contraceptive options. Everything we do is about listening to women and building what they want, because very few companies are really listening."
