Leeds-based data firm The Data City has secured seed funding from Venturian Funding and Investment Group. The capital will support the company as it prepares to launch its first international territory next year and scales its workforce.

The investment follows a period of client acquisition for the firm, which counts public bodies among its users. The company provides real-time classifications to replace traditional industrial categories that fail to capture modern economic sectors.

Venturian backed the business to accelerate its global ambitions and technology development. The funding will enable the firm to expand its team of analysts and developers in the coming months.
