Thallo is a climate tech and web3 start-up that builds a digital carbon exchange using distributed ledger technology. The platform connects buyers and sellers directly to improve efficiency and transparency in the voluntary carbon market.

Climate tech and web3 start-up Thallo has closed an oversubscribed seed financing round of £2m to support the ongoing development and marketing of its carbon exchange platform. The investment was led jointly by Arcan and Friendly Trading Group 2, with participation from Ripple, Allegory, Cerulean Ventures, and Flori Ventures. Additional support came via a grant from Celo through the Climate Collective, alongside a technical partnership with Ripple.

Founded by a team of sustainability experts and blockchain entrepreneurs, the company aims to eliminate intermediaries in the voluntary carbon market by enabling direct transactions between project developers and buyers. The fresh capital will be deployed to scale the platform and expand commercial operations following recent milestones, including the announcement of a two-way carbon bridge with the BioCarbon Registry.
