Swiipr is a travel paytech company that digitises and streamlines airline disruption payments and compensation processes. The firm provides integrated virtual and physical cards alongside a mobile application to replace legacy paper vouchers and cash.
Travel paytech firm Swiipr has secured £6m in Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures, with participation from TX Ventures and Solano Partners. The capital will be deployed to support international market expansion and drive product development, including targeted investments in artificial intelligence, research and development, and data analytics.
Launched in 2020, Swiipr addresses the airline industry challenge of managing flight disruptions, which affect over 500m passengers annually. Its platform replaces inefficient paper vouchers and cash with digital pre-paid cards and mobile applications, helping carriers reduce processing times and mitigate fraud while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The fresh capital will enable the company to scale its operations further as it looks to build on existing traction with major global carriers and flag carriers across multiple international markets.
Investor perspective
"We’ve been impressed by the power of Swiipr’s offering to fundamentally transform compensation payments, delivering the scale and efficiency of modern payments to the airline industry while significantly improving the travel experience for their customers."
