Sure Chill secures £4m from The Garage Soho and Novastar Ventures to scale its cooling technology
The funding round was backed equally by brand builder The Garage Soho and Africa-focused venture capital firm Novastar Ventures.
Sure Chill develops cooling technology that maintains low temperatures during power interruptions, initially designed for vaccine storage in emerging regions. The company works with international health organisations and commercial partners to deploy its systems globally.
Cardiff cooling technology business Sure Chill has raised £4m in new funding from The Garage Soho and Novastar Ventures. The capital will be deployed to accelerate product development, expand overseas operations and attract talent as the company scales its commercial footprint.
The business initially gained recognition for protecting temperature-sensitive vaccines in regions with unreliable power supplies, securing contracts with UNICEF and exporting to 49 countries. Building on this operational foundation, the company is now expanding its cooling applications into broader commercial sectors and major global markets.
The latest injection follows substantial recent growth, including a doubling of team size over a three-month period and turnover reaching £3m last year. Existing shareholder Peter Saunders remains the company's largest backer as it targets further international expansion.
