StudentCrowd raises £7m in Series A funding led by YFM Equity Partners to scale its data platform.

StudentCrowd operates a trusted data and insights platform tailored for the purpose-built student accommodation sector. The business combines real-time market data with verified student reviews to assist operators and investors with pricing and asset-level decisions.

StudentCrowd has secured £7m in Series A funding led by YFM Equity Partners, with backing from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund II through Mercia Ventures. The fresh capital will be deployed to accelerate product development and drive the company's international expansion into continental Europe and adjacent living sectors.

The investment follows a previous round in 2023 and arrives as demand for reliable data intelligence intensifies across the purpose-built student accommodation market. Operators and investors increasingly rely on comprehensive analytics to navigate rising complexities in pricing and supply dynamics.

On the student side, we want every student to be able to choose where they study and live with confidence, powered by authentic, verified reviews from people with real experience. On the industry side, we have built a dataset that gives operators, investors and advisers the independent, accurate data they need to make optimal decisions. This funding enables us to invest in the platform to better support decision-making for the students and the sector. While researching mainland Europe and the US, we discovered similar challenges and are working with launch partners to expand the platform into these geographies. In the UK, we are further innovating the platform to enhance data-driven decision-making."
