The seed round was led by UCL Technology Fund to support the development and practical application of the company technology.
Stanhope AI is a London based deep tech startup pioneering brain inspired artificial intelligence for physical environments. The firm develops adaptive intelligence frameworks designed to function in dynamic real world settings.
Stanhope AI has secured £2.3m in seed funding to advance its agentic AI models and practical research applications. The round was led by the UCL Technology Fund, with participation from Creator Fund, MMC Ventures, Moonfire Ventures, Rockmount Capital and various angel investors.
The company translates decades of neuroscience research, specifically the Free Energy Principle and Active Inference, into autonomous machine learning systems. These models operate independently of vast training datasets by continuously updating their internal world models through onboard sensors.
The fresh capital will support further development of the firm's technology, which is currently undergoing trials with partners including the Royal Navy and Germany's Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation for use in delivery drones and autonomous machinery.
