Costanoa led the seed round to accelerate go to market expansion and product development for Spectral Compute.
Spectral Compute builds software that lets CUDA applications run on any graphics processor without performance loss. Its flagship framework SCALE addresses vendor lock in for high performance computing and artificial intelligence ecosystems.
Spectral Compute has secured a 4.56m seed round led by Costanoa, with participation from Crucible and angel investors. The London based software firm will direct the proceeds toward accelerating go to market expansion and deepening product development.
The funding follows growing industry concern over hardware dependency and high costs associated with dominant chip suppliers. Spectral aims to eliminate these bottlenecks by allowing organizations to execute existing CUDA code across alternative hardware vendors.
Early adopters in microprocessor design and high performance motorsports are already deploying the technology. The company intends to scale its engineering team and extend support beyond the AMD ecosystem to other chip architectures.
From the founder
"Companies shouldn’t have to bet their entire compute infrastructure on one chipmaker. "
Michael Søndergaard
co-founder and CEO at Spectral Compute
Investor perspective
"Spectral has solved one of computing’s toughest challenges: letting teams write CUDA once but run it anywhere. Their breakthrough technology eliminates one of the largest bottlenecks in AI infrastructure and HPC today, unlocking choice and innovation across the compute landscape."
