The Series C round was led by Chrysalis Investments and Arete Capital Partners to support international expansion and product development.
Sorted is a London-based recycling technology business providing artificial intelligence-enabled solutions to sort recyclable materials. Its proprietary technology uses computer vision and spectroscopy to identify items and guide human pickers at recovery facilities.
Delivery experience platform Sorted has closed a $40m Series C funding round alongside the acquisition of automated returns specialist Clicksit. The financing was led by Chrysalis Investments and Arete Capital Partners, with participation from new shareholder Solid Bond Capital. The capital will enable Sorted to expand its operations into the United States and extend its platform offerings to small and medium businesses.
The transaction brings together two Manchester-based companies to bridge the gap between post-purchase tracking and returns management. Following the appointment of new chief executive Carmen Carey, Sorted aims to broaden its market reach beyond large enterprises like ASOS and Asda.
