Dundee-based SolarisKit has secured £150k in funding from the British Design Fund to accelerate its growth plans. The capital will be used to expand market reach, speed up product development, improve manufacturing capabilities, and enter new territories.
Founded by Dr. Faisal Ghani, the company has developed a modular solar thermal collector that requires no electricity or external pump and can be assembled quickly. The fresh investment follows growing international demand driven by rising energy costs and the need for accessible low-carbon heating solutions.

"When I saw the statistic I was shocked and the more I looked into it the more I saw the potential for solar heating to solve the problem. But there were many design challenges to overcome, if we were to make a solution that was both accessible and affordable. We knew that any technology we produced had to not only work successfully in different climates but also be very easy to transport and fit."
