The financing was led by EMV Capital Partners and will support operational scaling and early customer deployments.
Edinburgh developer of low-power radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems beamforming solutions for satellite communications and wireless markets.
Sofant Technologies has secured £6.3m in a funding round led and syndicated by EMV Capital Partners. The raise comprises new equity, loan conversions, and advance subscriptions, with participation from Scottish Enterprise and the National Security Strategic Investment Fund, alongside other backers.
The capital will enable the Edinburgh-based radio technology developer to scale operations, finalise product qualifications, and prepare for early customer deployments in satellite communications, defence, and advanced wireless markets. The financing arrives as the business transitions from multi-year research and development into commercial production and global expansion.
EMV Capital anchored the round with new equity and managed the restructuring of existing debt and stakeholder alignments. The milestone follows recent technical achievements, including the demonstration of a Ka-band transmit array and the appointment of Will Whitehorn as chair.
