Social Energy supplies green energy by using artificial intelligence to optimise solar connected battery storage and household electrical appliances. The company operates in the UK and Australia.

Social Energy has secured a seed investment from CarVal Investors to accelerate its expansion across the UK, Australia, and international markets. The funding follows the company's recent Australian market launch and will support the broader commercialisation of its virtual power plant technology. CarVal Investors led the financing, with Principal Stuart Lammin joining the board.

Founded to reduce domestic electricity bills, Social Energy combines artificial intelligence with solar storage to manage household energy distribution. The fresh capital will allow the enterprise to scale operations and extend its platform management to electric vehicles and hot water systems. The transaction was completed in December 2020.
