Skoot operates a carbon negative lift sharing platform designed to connect drivers with friends needing transport while automatically handling fuel contributions. The company focuses on sustainable mobility and aims to provide an affordable alternative to public transport.

London based lift sharing start up Skoot has secured £1.6m in seed investment from a network of angel backers. The newly launched firm will direct the capital towards accelerating growth and addressing contemporary mobility challenges.

Founded in August 2019, the company provides a mobile platform that links drivers with friends seeking a lift, automates payment collection for running costs, and offsets journey carbon emissions by 110 percent. The fresh financing follows an oversubscribed raise completed prior to lockdown.

From the founder

"The idea and our concept resonated so well we were fortunate to be oversubscribed at our last fundraise, which was completed prior to lockdown. We, along with our investors, truly believe that the opportunity and timing is right to really make a difference to mobility across the Globe"
