The seed round was backed by ACS Publications and Enago to scale research integrity technology.
Signals provides research integrity tools for academic publishers to evaluate manuscripts and protect editorial quality. The platform combines network analysis, expert knowledge, and artificial intelligence to assess research trust.
Signals has raised £830k in a seed funding round backed by ACS Publications, Enago, and Scholarly Angels, alongside other angel investors. The capital will be directed towards accelerating product development for research integrity, scaling proprietary technology and AI capabilities, and expanding the reach of the Signals Data Graph.
The funding arrives as academic publishers face growing volumes of research and increased scrutiny regarding trust and quality. Strategic backing from ACS and Enago will provide domain expertise and feedback to support platform development while maintaining the company's independent and neutral stance in the market.
