MMC Ventures led the seed round to support international expansion and technological scaling.
Senseon provides an artificial intelligence platform for cyber defence that automates threat detection across digital estates. The company combines expertise from former government operatives and machine learning specialists.
Senseon has secured £4.9m in seed funding to scale its technology and expand its presence across EMEA and the US. MMC Ventures led the investment, with participation from Mark Weatherford, Amadeus Capital Partners, Crane Venture Partners, and CyLon.
Founded in 2017 by former UK military cyber operative David Atkinson, Senseon deploys an AI Triangulation system to offer complete visibility across digital estates and automatically identify genuine security threats. The fresh capital will support the firm as it accelerates international growth and meets rising demand for automated cyber defence solutions.
From the founder
"Cyber-attacks are one of the greatest concerns for the modern business. Organisations’ networks are becoming increasingly complex and accelerated tech adoption creates additional noise for attackers to hide within. Meanwhile, attacker innovation is growing, and their techniques evade current cyber defence tools, which are unable to differentiate between genuinely malicious threats and merely new or unusual activity."

Investor perspective
"Cyber security continues to be the number one priority for technology deployments by CIOs. Organisations of all sizes need to get better at keeping pace with emerging threats, but more importantly, identifying the attacks that require intervention. Senseon’s technology directly addresses this challenge by using reinforcement learning AI techniques to help over-burdened security teams better understand anomalous behaviour through a single holistic platform."
