London-based health technology startup developing real-time and pain-free microsensors for continuous health monitoring.

London health technology startup SAVA has secured $8m in seed funding to advance its real-time health monitoring microsensors. The investment round was led jointly by Balderton Capital and Exor Ventures. The company will direct the capital toward expanding its team, designing its next-generation product line with high-throughput manufacturing capability, and demonstrating platform clinical performance.

Founded by bioengineers Renato Circi and Rafael Michali, SAVA has created a smart wearable patch that detects molecules in interstitial fluid just beneath the skin. The company recently received approval from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency to conduct clinical trials for its glucose monitoring device aimed at diabetes patients. This latest investment brings the startup's total capital raised to $13m.
