Route Konnect provides video analytics software that anonymously maps movement data for people and vehicles across physical spaces. Based in Cardiff, the company builds tools for smart cities and urban planning without relying on facial recognition.

Cardiff software company Route Konnect has secured £780k in pre-seed funding to accelerate the development of its video analytics platform. The round was led by the Development Bank of Wales through its Technology Seed Fund, with participation from Pi Labs, SFC Capital, and private angels.

The capital will be used to double the size of the team with technical and business operations hires. Route Konnect plans to bring its platform to market, supporting urban planning, traffic management, and place-making applications without using facial recognition technology.
