Rockley Photonics secures £47.3m in growth equity to accelerate product development.
The funding round was supported by Morningside Ventures and new private funds.
Rockley Photonics develops integrated silicon photonic solutions, supplying high-volume sensor and communication products. Formed in 2013, the company is led by Dr Andrew Rickman.
Rockley Photonics has secured £47.3m in growth private equity, closing an additional $65m round of growth capital. The funding came from new private funds and existing backer Morningside Ventures. The fresh capital will be directed towards accelerating the development of the company product offerings, specifically its integrated optical sensors.
The firm has previously raised over $290m in financing to advance its silicon photonics platform, drawing support from backers such as SIG-I Capital and Applied Ventures. Rockley continues to work alongside major tier-one customers to deliver optical systems across markets including healthcare and communications.
