Reclinker secures £10m in Series A funding to scale low-carbon cement production
The financing round was co-led by Clean Growth Fund and AP Ventures to support facility expansion in Wales.
Reclinker develops low-carbon cement by transforming demolition waste using existing steel-recycling infrastructure.
Cambridge-based Reclinker has closed a £10m Series A funding round to advance its low-carbon cement technology from industrial trials toward commercial scale. The capital injection was co-led by Clean Growth Fund and AP Ventures, with additional participation from the Development Bank of Wales, Kibo Invest, Zero Carbon Capital, and Cambridge Enterprise.
The company plans to direct the proceeds toward scaling production capabilities at its Cardiff site, creating regional green jobs, and preparing for international expansion across Europe and the US. Reclinker uses electric arc furnaces to convert construction waste into new cement, bypassing the need for conventional limestone kilns.
Investor perspective
"We are thrilled to have received backing from both our existing and incoming investors. This oversubscribed round sends a strong signal that UK investors are serious about decarbonisation. We are particularly glad this investment will support the growth of green industries in Wales,"
