Coatue led the Series D round, which will fund platform expansion and strategic acquisitions.
Rapyd provides a fintech as a service platform that powers local and cross border payments for global businesses. The company unifies fragmented payment systems through a comprehensive network spanning multiple countries.
Rapyd has secured £220m in Series D funding led by Coatue to scale its global payments network and pursue strategic acquisitions. The round also drew participation from new backers including Spark Capital, Avid Ventures, FJ Labs, and Latitude, alongside existing investors General Catalyst, Oak HC/FT, Tiger Global, Target Global, Durable Capital, Tal Capital, and Entrée Capital. The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding engineering and product teams and enhancing the self service capabilities of the platform. Rapyd's infrastructure enables businesses to process local and cross border transactions across multiple payment methods without building proprietary networks.
From the founder
"The demand for online payments has skyrocketed following the restrictions due to the effects of COVID, and as a company, we are well placed to provide businesses across the globe with the solutions they need and to get them up and running fast,"
Arik Shtilman
Co-founder and CEO at Rapyd
Investor perspective
"The payment landscape varies dramatically across countries. A company doing business globally might need to accept hundreds of local payment methods. Rapyd’s API, which abstracts away this complexity, is currently powering what we think are many of the world’s most exciting companies,"
