Quantum Motion raises £42m led by Bosch Ventures to advance silicon quantum processors

The oversubscribed round was led by Bosch Ventures with backing from Porsche SE and British Patient Capital.

£42.0M

Quantum Motion develops scalable and energy-efficient quantum computers using industry-standard silicon transistors. The firm leverages existing semiconductor manufacturing lines to build systems that fit inside standard data-centre racks.

Quantum Motion has secured more than £42m in an oversubscribed equity funding round led by Bosch Ventures. The round saw participation from new investors Porsche Automobil Holding SE and British Patient Capital, alongside existing backers including Oxford Science Enterprises, Inkef, Parkwalk Advisors, Octopus Ventures, IP Group, and NSSIF. The capital will be deployed to accelerate the development of silicon quantum processors, forge deeper ties with manufacturing partners, and expand the company footprint in London.

This latest raise brings Quantum Motion's total funding to £62m. The business has previously secured over £20m in equity and grant support to build out its cryogenic electronic circuits and demonstrate mass characterisation of quantum dots in commercial foundries.

From the founder

"The support of leading technology investors enables us to realise our vision of a quantum computer built using standard foundry processes. This support, along with the continuing UK national quantum programme and European initiatives, provides a step-change in our capabilities.
