QMatter develops quantum compression software designed to reduce the computational demands of molecular simulations for drug discovery. The company operates from bases in London and Boston.
QMatter has secured $1.2m in pre_seed funding to develop its quantum compression platform for molecular simulations. The round was led by 55 North, with participation from XTX Ventures, Bellstate Oy, and the Conception X Angel Syndicate.
Founded in 2024 by researchers from University College London, the startup builds software designed to work alongside existing quantum and classical systems. The technology isolates essential molecular components to generate actionable data for drug discovery without requiring hardware replacements.
The newly secured capital will be directed towards expanding the platform, recruiting additional personnel, and initiating industrial pilot programmes with pharmaceutical partners. The firm anticipates raising a seed round in approximately twelve months.
