The initial tranche of the Series A round was led by DB1 Ventures with backing from Dutch Founders Fund and Flow Traders.
Primary Portal operates a digital platform that aggregates and digitises equity capital market processes for banks and asset managers. The firm builds interoperable infrastructure to replace manual workflows in equity issuance.
Primary Portal has secured £7.5m in the first stage of its Series A funding round. The investment was led by DB1 Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Deutsche Börse Group, with participation from existing backers Dutch Founders Fund and Flow Traders.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the platform capabilities, notably by linking asset managers with banks through order management systems to facilitate straight-through processing. Furthermore, the company plans to develop its analytical data tools.
Over 90 banks and 400 institutional investors currently utilise the platform to manage equity issuance processes. The company anticipates a second close for the round later in the year as additional investors join.
