Porotech secures £3m in seed funding led by Speedinvest to advance micro-LED technology
The funding round was led by Speedinvest to support the development of novel micro-LED production methods.
Porotech develops advanced gallium nitride semiconductor materials and micro-LED displays for global tech markets. The company emerged as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge to improve visual clarity and efficiency in compact screens.
Porotech has raised £3m in a seed funding round led by Speedinvest to advance its micro-LED production techniques. The investment will support the company as it works to integrate red, green and blue micro-LEDs for full-colour microdisplays.
Previous backers IQ Capital, Cambridge Enterprise, Martlet Capital and Cambridge Angels also participated in the financing. The Cambridge-based semiconductor developer has been generating revenue since late 2020 following its spinout from the University of Cambridge.
