Ponda is a Bristol-based biomaterials enterprise developing plant-based thermal insulation from wetland crops. The company links material production with environmental restoration.
Bristol biomaterials company Ponda has secured $2.4m in a seed funding round to advance the commercialisation of its plant-based thermal insulation, BioPuff. The oversubscribed financing was co-led by Faber and Counteract, alongside participation from PDS Ventures, Evenlode Impact, and the RCA Design and Innovation S/EIS Fund. This latest injection brings the company's total capital raised to $6.5m, following earlier backing from Innovate UK and various awards.
The capital will be deployed to expand manufacturing capabilities and grow the European wetland farming network. Ponda intends to use the proceeds to prepare commercial product lines for the Autumn and Winter 2026 fashion collections, aiming to decarbonise the global textiles supply chain.
