Pimberly secures £4m Series B investment from NPIF and Mercia to scale international operations
The financing round was provided by NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance and Mercia funds to support US and European expansion.
Pimberly provides product information management and digital asset management software that helps businesses boost their e-commerce sales. The Manchester-based firm serves major brands and retailers by centralising product data and digital assets.
Manchester-based software provider Pimberly has secured £4m in Series B funding to accelerate its international expansion and platform development. The investment was supplied by NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance, alongside Mercia's own funds and Northern Venture Capital Trusts.
The fresh capital will be directed towards enhancing the company's product capabilities, growing its US operations, and establishing a deeper presence in the European market. Since its previous funding round in 2021, the firm has increased its headcount and doubled its customer base.
The business provides product information and digital asset management systems to global brands, helping them manage complex data listings across multiple sales channels. Chief executive Martin Balaam noted that the continued backing from its regional investors highlights the strength of the Northern technology sector.
Investor perspective
"The North West of England has built a strong track record for e-commerce, which stems from its role as a centre for the mail order catalogue industry and the textile trade before that. Pimberly builds on that tradition and is increasingly being recognised as a global leader in its field. The company has been expanding steadily and has created a strong foundation in the US market. This latest investment will help Martin and the team to accelerate its growth and take the business to the next level."
