The funding round was backed by Episode 1 following previous angel investment.
Pickr operates a digital staffing platform designed for utility service providers and workers. The company uses automation to connect firms with skilled temporary labour.
Norwich-based digital staffing platform Pickr has secured £1m in funding from Episode 1. The capital will be directed towards recruiting key senior personnel and growing the company network of skilled workers.
Established in 2017, Pickr serves clients in the energy and utilities sectors by lowering the expenses associated with flexible workforce management. The platform uses intelligent automation to help customers source temporary staff rapidly, cutting down on reliance upon traditional recruitment agencies.
The business has previously attracted investment from angels including Nick Kingsbury. Pickr works with several major UK utility providers and handled over 4,000 shifts in the preceding year.
From the founder
"Our customers win and lose contracts based on the speed at which they can scale their workforce. They need the right people with the right skills in the right place, often at short notice. If they can’t find them quickly, it can cost them dearly. We created Pickr specifically to solve this problem,"
Kane Halsey
CEO at Pickr
Investor perspective
"The Pickr team knows its niche and has proven its business model. The company is solving a real problem much more cost-effectively than traditional recruitment agencies and has all the ingredients needed to disrupt the marketplace. Utilities is a big enough market in itself to get us excited, but Pickr has potential well beyond into all aspect of the industrial workforce."
