Pathfinder Medical secures £8.5m Series A follow on funding led by BGF and Parkwalk to advance clinical trials.
The investment was led by BGF and Parkwalk to support pre-clinical work, clinical trials, and regulatory approval.
Pathfinder Medical develops proprietary technology to guide and align catheters during endovascular procedures, enabling connections across blood vessels without open surgery.
Pathfinder Medical has secured an £8.5m Series A follow on investment, led jointly by BGF and Parkwalk. The round also drew participation from industry insiders, alongside continued backing from existing investor Deepbridge Capital.
The capital will be directed towards advancing pre-clinical work, completing a pivotal patient trial, and obtaining regulatory approvals ahead of commercial rollout. The company has previously raised over £6m from angels, grant funders, and Deepbridge.
Alongside the funding, the business announced the appointments of Chas Taylor as Chairman and Stefano Ciampolini as Non-Executive Director to strengthen its board expertise in the medical device and renal sectors.
From the founder
"There are over three million dialysis patients worldwide and every year patients undergo nearly 650,000 surgical AVF creation procedures. However, these procedures take a long time to heal and are prone to failure. Our technology has the power to significantly improve the outcomes for dialysis patients, improving their quality of life and saving millions of pounds in the process. We are delighted to have the support of BGF and Parkwalk to help the business move forward with our clinical trials and ultimately roll-out this ground-breaking product to a global market."
