£2.9MSeed

Paragraf develops and manufactures scalable graphene-based electronic devices as an alternative to traditional silicon components. The firm uses contamination-free technology to supply advanced sensors across sectors such as aerospace, automotive and quantum computing.

Paragraf has secured £2.9m in seed funding to support its graphene technology development and the opening of a new facility in Cambridge. The capital was provided by a group of investors led by Cambridge Enterprise, alongside Amadeus Capital Partners, Parkwalk Advisors, IQ Capital Partners, and angel investors. The company will use the resources to transition its laboratory research into commercially viable products, including sensors and solid state electronics.

The business spun out from the University of Cambridge in 2017 and has established custom equipment to produce transfer free graphene on silicon and sapphire wafers. Alongside its commercial work, Paragraf is collaborating with Queen Mary University of London to accelerate research and development. The firm aims to deliver its first major electronic device later this year.
