Dublin-based tech firm Overcast HQ has secured $1.2m in funding from a group of prominent angel investors to expand its team and develop its product further. The round includes backing from industry figures such as Google executive Paddy Flynn and former YouTube engineering lead Anil Kokaram.

Founded in 2015, the company provides a cloud-native Video Content-as-a-Service platform designed to help broadcasters and major brands manage, share, and archive video assets. The platform recently integrated generative AI capabilities to automate metadata tagging and enable conversational search functionality.

The fresh capital will support the company as it increases its global client footprint and prepares for a future Series A funding round. Overcast HQ currently counts organisations like Diageo, Vodafone, and the Royal Opera House among its clients.
