Open Cosmos secures £5m from the UK government to expand satellite manufacturing capabilities.
The funding comes from the UK government Space Clusters and Infrastructure Fund to scale production at Harwell and Space Park Leicester.

Open Cosmos has secured a £5m project from the UK government through the Space Clusters and Infrastructure Fund to expand its satellite manufacturing and research capabilities. The capital will enable the company to scale its production capacity at its Harwell campus site and strengthen its data analytics expertise via partnerships with organisations such as Space Park Leicester.
The funding arrives shortly after the firm closed a $50m Series B round in September. The latest injection aims to accelerate the company's objective to make satellite infrastructure more accessible by facilitating the integration of larger payloads.
The Space Clusters and Infrastructure Fund represents the first dedicated UK government financing for space infrastructure, designed to support domestic organisations in commercialising space products.
