Cardiff based artificial intelligence startup Nisien has secured investment from the British Business Bank via its Investment Fund for Wales, with participation from Foresight Group and the Development Bank of Wales. The funding will be used to accelerate research and development, expand the workforce, and scale the company platform.

Founded in 2023 by university professors, the business deploys artificial intelligence algorithms to accurately detect and classify harms across digital platforms in real time. The fresh capital supports the commercialisation of its flagship product, HERO Detect, alongside strategic executive appointments including a new chairman.
