NeuralSpace raises £2.4m seed investment led by Merus Capital and GoHub Ventures to advance voice AI

The seed round was co-led by Merus Capital and GoHub Ventures with backing from APX and Techstars.
NeuralSpace develops voice and text artificial intelligence models tailored for locally spoken and low-resource languages across Asia and Africa. Its platform provides developers with modular natural language processing tools that operate without requiring machine learning expertise.
NeuralSpace has secured £2.4m in a seed financing round led by Merus Capital and GoHub Ventures. The raise also drew participation from APX, Techstars, Verissimo, and a selection of angel investors. The fresh capital will be directed towards scaling the company's voice artificial intelligence technology and developing advanced speech models for low-resource languages over the coming year.
The latest injection builds on earlier support to complete a total seed financing of $2.8m. NeuralSpace launched its self-serve natural language understanding toolkit in January 2022, providing developers with modular services ranging from automatic data augmentation to translation and entity recognition.
From the founder
"training latest deep learning models accurately on very small data sets, which any local, low-resource language usually suffers from, is a very challenging task because models are usually designed to perform well in English with terabytes of available text and speech data but not in languages with a few hundred megabytes of data."
