Neubond secures £1.5m in seed funding from Waseda University Ventures, SFC Capital, and New Wave Ventures to commercialise its stroke rehabilitation wristband.
The round was led by Waseda University Ventures to support clinical studies and regulatory approval for the device.
Neubond develops a wearable wristband and app system designed to help stroke survivors rebuild neural pathways through real-time biofeedback.
Imperial College London spinout Neubond has secured £1.5m in seed funding to bring its at-home stroke rehabilitation wristband to market. The financing was led by Tokyo-based Waseda University Ventures alongside SFC Capital and New Wave Ventures.
The capital will support regulatory approval processes and clinical evaluation for the wearable device. The system detects faint electrical signals from muscles, providing visual feedback to help patients rebuild lost neural pathways after a stroke.
Trial data from a pilot study involving 15 patients indicated improvements in motion range over a one-month period. Neubond is currently conducting a clinical study at Charing Cross Hospital as part of its preparations for broader regulatory clearance.
